Las palabras interrogativas
You learned question words in Módulo 3. You will remember that all question words carry an accent.

When forming a question, the interrogative (question word) is usually placed in front of the verb.

| ¿Por qué buscas un nuevo trabajo? | Why are looking for a new job? |
Qué y Cuál
There are two ways to express which? and what?
When asking which, use cuál in front of a verb or the preposition de.

| ¿Cuál prefiere, esta compañía o la otra? | Which do you prefer, this company or the other? |
| ¿Cuál de los trabajos paga más? | Which of the jobs pays more? |
When asking what, use cuál with the verb ser. (The only exception is ¿Qué es esto? and ¿Qué son estos?)

Use qué with all other verbs.

Qué is always used in front of a noun and can translate to either which or what.
