El Verbo Ir
yo voy nosotros/as vamos
tú vas vosotros/as vais
usted va ustedes van
él/ella va ellos/ellas van
The verb ir is used with the preposition a to tell where someone is going. Note that a + el forms the contraction al. There is no contraction with the other articles (la, los, las).
To ask where someone is going, you will need to use adónde.
Voy al supermercado los viernes. I go to the supermarket on Fridays.
¿Adónde van? Where are you all going?
Vamos a la tienda. We are going to the store.
Expresar el futuro con el vero ir
To express something that someone is going to do, use the formula
ir + a + infinitivo
¿Qué vas a hacer? What are you going to do?
Voy a tomar el autobús. I am going to take the bus.
Mis padres van a ir al teatro. My parents are going to go to the theater.
