\n\nCase Study 1<\/strong>\n\nHector Ramirez is a 55 -year-old male admitted to the hospital with a chief complaint of redness, swelling, and pain at the site of recent abrasion that he experienced in a construction accident. The accident occurred three days ago.\n\nMedical History:<\/strong> Mr. Ramirez has a medical history of type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. He takes insulin, simvastatin, and lisinopril daily.\n\nPhysical Examination:<\/strong> On physical examination, Mr. Ramirez was alert and oriented. The right arm was erythematous, warm to touch, and there was swelling at the site of the abrasion. The client reported pain when the site was touched.\n\nDiagnostic Tests:<\/strong> A sample of fluid was collected from the affected area and sent for culture and sensitivity testing. The results showed the presence of Staphylococcus aureus<\/em>. Blood tests were also performed and revealed no signs of systemic infection.\n
